Her Legacy… Sue Ann Adkins, passed away June 2, 2019. She was born on September 29, 1950, in Flint, Michigan to John Bendis and Margaret (Launstein) Bendis. Sue married the love of her life, Kenneth Lee Adkins, on July 8, 1972, at St. Roberts Church in Flushing, Michigan. She was a faithful and longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Sue taught religious education for many years and volunteered for the Girl Scouts. She loved going up north to the cabin and enjoyed snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, and white water rafting. Sue loved spending time with her family and was considered “Wonderwoman” for her tenaciousness. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Her Family… Sue will be missed by her husband, Kenneth Lee Adkins; her children, Julia Ann Adkins, Kendra (Joseph II.) Giess, and Jennifer (Rico) Garcia; siblings, Gerald (Elaine) Bendis, Agnes (Ron) Taylor, and JoAnne (Bob) Petrowski; siblings in laws, Donnie (Ellen), Rubi (Blackie), Linda (Ron), Nina (Calvin), Sam (Tom), Leon, Glenn, and Doug; Dorothy; grandchildren, Austin, Blaik, Landon, and Ysabella; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Bendis, and by Ken’s brothers and sister in law.

Her Farewell… Sue’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 2:00-8:00pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00am for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Father John Rocus will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Karmanos Cancer Hospital, St. Francis Prayer Center, Flint, Michigan, and Holy Spirit School.
